FAI embraces new e-vetting system

The Football Association of Ireland will embrace a new e-vetting system that allows all Garda Vetting applications to be processed online.
28th Aug 2016

The new procedure will come into effect from September 5, 2016 as the FAI switches to an online portal.

From this date, a new ‘Vetting Invitation Form’ will replace the current Garda vetting form. This should be completed and returned to the FAI, along with the current Garda ID Validation form. Both of these forms will be available to download from

Upon receipt of a ‘Vetting Invitation Form’ and ‘Garda ID Validation Form’ the applicant will be emailed an invitation to complete the Garda Vetting process online.

If a Garda vetting applicant is aged 16 or 17 years old, the above documentation must be accompanied by a Parental/Guardian Consent form (NVB 3).

Please note: If you are not Garda Vetted through the FAI, you should not undertake any work in a paid or voluntary capacity with children or vulnerable persons in football in accordance with FAI Rule 75 and the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016.
